The idea
It started with a box of cards from my mom, and one too many "what do you want to do tonight"s.
A year ago, my mom gave my wife and me a box of scratch-off date-night cards, one idea hiding under every panel. I think she just knew us well enough to guess how many nights ended with what do you want to do tonight? and no real answer. Whatever her reasons, it's still one of the best gifts either of us has gotten.
It became our ritual: scratch, reveal, decide, no debating required. But a box only holds so many cards. You run out. You can't restock it at midnight. And there was no way to look back at the ones that turned into great nights.
